One of my favorite Russell Crowe movies is Gladiator. I really love how the story went and even the medieval setting especially the war where they used catapults to shoot molten balls of fire to their enemies. It was like using a hand-retractable spring plungers of the present times only catapults were humongous version of it.

Anyway, the story was really fascinating. Though it was fictional, I believe in the olden days in Rome, these things might happen to real life gladiators as treachery and power grabbing was wide spread during those days.

How about you? Do you have a favorite Russell Crowe movie?

My son wanted to have big fishes as a pet. Since getting fishes for a pet requires an aquarium, pond plants, fish tank accessories and many more, I have to decline to his request. Besides, taking care of an aquarium requires a lot of responsibility and hard work that I know my 6 years old son couldn’t do.

Buying our children pets are great but it always depends on how the child handles responsibility. We know pets are living creatures and it takes maintenance to keep them as pets. So, if your child is not yet capable of handling pets, it is better to refuse a request than suffering from another additional work load for you.

Pets are not toys that can be forgotten when not needed. So, better have a pet if the child can take care of it already.

During the 80’s, I was just toddler growing up and I was not yet going to movie theaters. But if we talk about movies from the 80’s that I watched, oh well most of my favorites are from that decade. Some of my all-time favorite movies are Star Wars sequels The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi were both released during the 80’s. Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, India Jones & the Temple of Doom, and India Jones and the Last Crusade came out during the 1981, 1984 and 1989 respectively. I had a big crush with Harrison Ford back then. It was also the time of Ghostbusters, Gremlins and The Karate Kid, all in 1984. The controversial Best Picture of 1986 Oscars, Platoon, became my first war movie favorite so as Robo Cop, Die Hard, Predator, Batman, Lethal Weapon and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Don’t forget the movies by Eddie Murphy, Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2 and of course, Coming to America. The 80’s were really full of blockbuster movies and most of them are my favorites.

If you remember, this was also the decade where the movie WarGames was released. It was a movie about a hacker, played by Matthew Broderick, who gets the chance to play a game with the US Military’s war computer. The movie itself was way ahead of its time but definitely has its relevance today. Anyway, if you missed seeing WarGames, here is your chance to reminiscence this classic sci-fi flick on July 24th in celebration of its 25th Anniversary. It will be shown on selected theaters all over the US for one night only. Again, for one night only! The movie will include never-before-seen interviews of the cast (Broderick and Sheedy) and of course, with the film creators too. You will also get a chance to take a sneak peek on the making of its sequel – WarGames: The Dead Code.

Just as I mentioned earlier from my other blog that me and my hubby loves watching movies, I was able to stumble upon a movie review on the Frontier(s). It was full of controversies on how the horror movie was unrated, so I opted to check it out. When I saw the trailer (gesh!!), I felt goose bumps all over me. I was really scared and I felt very yucky sick. If you want to know what I mean, go visit their site and watch the trailer yourself. Just imagine the trailer being so scary already, how much more if you will watch the long uncut movie? By the way, the unrated and uncut movie will shown in selected theaters. Please visit their website and select theater listings to see where it would be shown.

Anyway, when I got the idea what the movie is all about, my mind started to roll and I was thinking if that kind of situation really exists. The idea already really shivers me. The comment on the movie as being made by mad men, well, I just felt that the comment is really true. The scenes shown in the trailers are utterly gruesome!

Well, my hubby loves scary movies too and when I mentioned it to him. He said that we will go on a date when it hits big screen here in our place. Now that is something that I should prepare. Yeah, I should prepare a jacket to cover my eyes! I cannot stand seeing gruesome and blood-disgusting scenes.
