Popular Courses in the Philippines

I saw my high school classmate on Facebook. I saw her wearing hospital scrubs in one of her photos. So I asked her if she is a doctor or a nurse. She replied that she is a nurse. That didn’t came as a surprise to me because most of my classmates, male and female alike are nurses or taking a second course to become a nurse.

Here in the Philippines, most graduates from the past years are mostly taking up nursing. All wants to be a nurse because this is one of the quickest ways to go abroad. Filipino nurses are hired everywhere and mostly in demand in Europe and in the US.

But of course, aside from nurses, the second most in demand in Europe and in the US, are SpEd teachers; special education teachers especially in urban areas.

As for me, I am likely to study education as my second course rather than nursing. I won’t probably last a day injecting humans especially babies! Frown

DNA Testing is Expensive

When I have the time, I do watch those soap operas on TV, either by a local production or those international dramas that are dubbed in the local language. Some of them have plots where the paternity of the child needs to be tested and I would often hear them say, “Let’s have a DNA test.” Then the results would come out and the drama begins.

But I learned through the local news that DNA testing, though already common, is still quite expensive. In the Philippines, it is about P40,000 or roughly $1000 and I am not sure if the figure has gone down since I have last heard of it. If anything, I think it would just go up. Gee, so I guess it is not easy to get DNA testing after all because you will still have to secure that much money!

Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures

These days, there is an unbelievable shift in momentum when it comes to earning online. Some people have given up on blogging and gone back to their previous jobs, whereas some are still hopeful when finding ways and means to earn online.

For those who are new to the concept of earning online, you have to understand that there are various measures that a person can earn. Perhaps the most common venture when earning online is through selling goods through websites like eBay, Sulit, and the like. There are also those who have taken it upon themselves to offer their services such as writing, encoding, transcribing, and in essence becoming a virtual assistant.

I guess it is what they say that when desperate times come along, people are forced to take desperate measures in order to survive. Even I am at a precarious position of weighing things whether I would join the coat and tie work force, or continue what I have already started.

Kris Aquino and What She Owned

Kris Aquino is one of the most controversial actress and TV host. She is known to be tactless, womanizer and rich! She is almost at the TV spotlight almost every now and then especially now that his brother is now our President and her marriage is facing annulment.

Anyway, I don’t really like Kris that much. I find her not my type when it comes to TV hosting. But what I like about her is what she owned. She is one of the riches gals in our country to own a motorhome. I know she could afford one and definitely pay for motorhome insurance here in the Philippines. I could not find a picture of it online but I saw it once. It was featured prior to the election at a show she hosted.

I really wanted a motorhome. Though I am not an actress, the thought of living anywhere you want excites me!

Reproductive Health Bill

Everybody is talking about the Reproductive Health Bill and I must say people are giving their opinions left and right about whether or not to approve or trash it. As for me, I have no strong opinion about the matter yet as I need to learn more about it.

Anyway, if many people are making a big fuss on contraceptive pills, how much more if they make male enhancement supplements open to the public for over the counter buying? That must be a debate worth watching as senators will surely have all their thoughts flying up to the ceiling of the session hall.

Oh well, how about you? Do you have a strong opinion already about the Reproductive Health Bill??
