The US Congress have enacted a Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act (Megan’s Law) last 1995 after the child Megan was kidnapped by a repeat violent sex offender. He raped and brutally murdered the young child. Megan’s Law was to allow the public access rights to the list of repeat sex offenders living in their area.

To help prevent such incidents like what happened to poor Megan, it’s better to search for offenders within the area so that every family will feel confident.
